Things to Do in a TOK Presentation
- Analyze Knowledge Questions (KQs) using multiple perspectives
- Apply concepts and ideas from TOK like Areas and Ways of Knowing (AOKs, WOKs)
- Reflect back to original Real Life Situation (RLS)
- Always have a focus on KQs
- Mention where you got your sources from
Things to Avoid in a TOK Presentation
- Don't analyze KQs with just your perspective
- Don't simply put two contrasting opinions against each other; discuss how they were "formed as a process of learning" (Anonymous TOK Examiner).
- Do not pursue hypotheticals as your topics
- Do not focus on narration/description over analysis
- Do not arbitrarily insert TOK phrases in an attempt to get free points (obvious to professional examiners)
- Do not end up neutral, develop how you came to one conclusion or the other
2 Real Life Questions I'm Interested In:
- The legalization of federal gay marriage in the United States
- The question of technological growth severely damaging traditional job markets and creating structural, long-term unemployment
Good start but you do not have enough to do's. Read that presi, research some more.
ReplyDeleteYour RL:S need back up, newspaper, tv etc and there are no KQs
