Summarizing Year 1 of TOK

In our first year of IB, we were introduced to the subject of Theory of Knowledge (TOK). After spending some time understanding the basic premise of TOK, we spent a few months exploring the various "Areas of Knowledge" (AOK) and "Ways of Knowing" (WOK) in TOK. These are the core concepts of the TOK curriculum, and are very important due to their significant role in the TOK Essay and Video we'll have to do this year to submit to the IB. The AOKs we discussed were the human sciences, religious knowledge systems, mathematics, ethics, the natural sciences, history, the arts, and indigenous knowledge systems. The WOKs that we learned about were emotion, imagination, intuition, memory, faith, sense perception, reasoning, and language. We also wrote blog posts on a variety of different ideas and theories, like the impact our genetics and our experiences have on our personalities/lifestyle, or what life would be like if we didn't have a record of our history.
